I had my Ohlins rev. and have triple rate springs on it, I have to say it is the best shocks I've ridden on. I went through ATK, they have a local guy that does it. As for you just adding springs yo have to valv. it for triple rates, it has to be valv. to your weight.

somewhere another member just added the blaze top spring to the speed ohlins and I dont remeber who it was I think it can be done if I can get the springs and the spring seperator.

Yes, but there is a problem, when you don't valv. to your weight, when you go to ajust sag you will compress the first spring and not the main spring, thus making your sag wrong and your new spring worth less.

What gets me hung up about the whole valving thing is no one talks about how to do it for the "do it yourselfer". Yes, you might have to purchase special tools but for some of us it might be worth it...

From my understanding it is like +300$ to have your stocker converted.. where, now I am just guessing... its like 100$ in parts.

Maybe it is that hard to convert.. I would just like to know more about doing it yourself...

you would compress the top springs if it was a ssd style spring but the moto and blaze didnt have ssd style shocks so you wont compress the top spring. All I want to do is add the moto or blaze top springs make the speed ohlins a triple rate to make it a better shock to kinda go with the blaze ohlins rear that is on the bike now. smile.gif the speed ohlins are a dual rate since they are progressively wound springs and if you add the blaze or moto top spring it would be a triple rate I know it has been done maybe cannondale27 has I think.

If you cant find the blaze ones try Elka.I am not sure if there sliders will fit but it will be close. You will also have to put crossovers in there.Run about a 1/4in. gap.As for valving you will end up going stiffer on compression valving.

I had a couple sets of these springs and sleeves from converted Moto shocks. They have all gone to other members here, and where installed on Speed Ohlins and seem to be working fine.

You can get all the parts from Ohlins, but their not cheap.
