Power Problems Need Help

I was riding the other day and my moto just stoped lost all power the led green light came on meaning no power. My battery basically shorted out put a new battery in and the new one after about a mile lost power and wont even turn over the motor. like it got fried also any ideas what would cause this to high of volts not enough volts please help thanks

Isnt the green light supposed to be on all the time?Check the regulator.

Check and clean all grounds.
