the botom of the case is leaking

Engine, intake, exhaust, EFI, chain, sprockets, etc.

has been leaking for about a year now. but not it is geting pretty bad, how hard is this to fix?

what is the prosses for doing it?

Have you looked to see if its coming from the scavenger pickup cover?if you are sure its the weld that is leaking there are products made for sealing that.What I would do is do a pressure test to pinpoint exactly where it is sometines a little pinhole you can take a small punch and peen it in.Then you can apply some JB or the green Loctite made for sealing porosities.Worst case you have to weld it.I bet with pressure test it will be the pickup cover.

Stand the quad on its grab bar.Pull the engine cradle . Put 5psi into the crankcase breather hose. Find the leak with soapy water. Fix as C27 suggested. Chances are good the skid plate wore through the welds on the bottom of the case. Easy fix with JB weld and a coating of silicone over the top for wear.
