Is there a way to separate an early crank to check it's condition? I'd rather throw it away at home instead of sending it out for disaasembly. I have a press at home and could make some simple fixtures if needed. I searched for crankshaft related topics, but there were so many I couldn't read them all and did not find any titles that were obvious. I was told C27 might have posted something a while ago.

Thanks for any help

Very easy to do. All you need is a good press and a clamp to hold the crankshaft.

I have made this one myself, not very difficult to make. Just be sure to make it very heavy and strong.
