hopefully its not too serious but i had a yz mx bike due that and it was the big end rod bearing starting to go.i have also seen camshaft caps not torqued properly do the same thing as well.let us know what you find

This may sound like a stupid question but how do I get the engine to not turn when I try to take off the flywheel or the timing chain drive gear???

Hey I'm a rookie, but I'd say the TDC screw located on the crank plate. Unscrew, remove the collar and hand tighten back in as there's a hole in the crank that the bolt will now go through and lock it (crank) in place. You do have to have it at TDC though.

Well here's the strange part I aligned the gears to TDC and put in the screw and it still turned!!! Ever seen that before??

Not if you removed the collar and hand tightend until the bolt found the hole and the head bottomed out. Well almost my first tech. help post..... The others will know.

Thanks found the issue, the bolt was not long enough (thanks ATK) even with the washer removed, put in a longer bolt and it works fine now.

I assume the only thing that is reverse thread on the engine is the impeller???
