Hyd. Clutch

#1 Post by OCR »

The Cannibal I am getting next week is one of the last ones off the line before the switchover to the 03's. I didnt check w they shop yet, but should this come w the hyd. clutch or not?

The late 02's came with hydraulic clutches I think. Two of my friends have late 02's and I am pretty sure they have them.

My '02 has a hydraulic clutch. The late '02's do have them, I've seen several when I was shopping for mine ( I'm lucky enough to have 4 dealers within an hour drive from home)

I have the cable. My dale is a mid run 2002. It really sucks to have a cable. I just fixed mine and adjusted the clutch. Real pain in the arse.

Yes late 02s had hydraulic clutch, different steering stem,Arvin shocks, both fuel fittings at front of tank.Early 03 new a-arms,yet another steering stem, different tires,Black valvecover, some late early had a sidecover on motor that is mettalic silver.I think there are four different versions of steering stem since the begining.I wouldnt get too caught up in worrying about small changes since late 02s they are all awesome.

Also if I am not correct the early 2002's had hydro clutches too. That is why it doesn't make sense to me that they made only a limited run of Dale's with a Cable.

******: question? How did you route the cable through the air box and is the cable the newer version (shorter) or the older one where it routes through the shroud?

I have been having a real pain getting mine to work right. There is no free play in the clutch and the adjustment is all the way out. I had to go into the clutch to adjust it.

Be greatful you haven't had to deal with the new cable yet. They are shorter and go over the radiator. I still haven't figured out the correct routing.

I had the long one. 3 Days after i lubed it she snapped 4 miles out. Loved that ride back to the truck! The newer, short cable sure was a tough install over the radiator! I guess I got her right though. I've been trying to get a spare, with no success.
