What kind of Fuel?

#1 Post by cannondale440 »

Does anyone run race fuel? If so, what kind? I was looking into running some but the only race gas i can get is leaded. Does that matter if a gas is leaded or unleaded?

As I understand it, leaded fuel is actually better as it will lubricate your engine better.

Will the leaded hurt the motor in the long haul?

I've always been told not to run leaded gas in a motor designed for unleaded. Eats valve seals, from what I have heard.

Vp ultimate 4 is the real deal. You ll feel it. But you have to richen up due to the high oxygen content.

I run a mixture of 3 gal of Citgo 110 Leaded with 2 gal of 95 Sunoco in a 5 gal can. I just mix it all up into 2 cans that I take with me to races and keep them sealed up when not in use. When I get low on one, I will empty it into the bike or the other can and then remix that one. I also put a fragrance in it sometimes. Kinda adds a little conversation to the ride. Works for me.

We tried race fuels. The only thing we noticed is it dried out the O-rings on the quick couplings on the gas tank.

I was told that you could use a certain type of race fuel that wouldn't affect the o-rings is this correct?

I use a 50/50 mix of VP 105 and Premium Unleaded 91. I use this because the owner before me used this mix.
