No transmission filter

#1 Post by 440 rider 34 »

Well I went to change my oil and found out I do not have a transmission filter anymore its all chewed up in the tranny, must not have got it in there just right last time I changed oil. I need some help guys do I pull the motor and get this cleaned out or can I just keep flushing it out everytime I ride it? Ive got the worcs series coming up in a few weeks so I need to act quick.

How bad is it damaged. If you tip the quad back it should roll to the back of the engine and if your lucky like I was you can fish it out . If you cant find it them I would recomend pulling the tranny cartridge . Its not to tough becasue you dont have to disaassmble the whole engine just the rear. But you still have to pull it out of the frame which is fairly easy to. No better time to check your valves ,do the stage 8,and other updates.

Well Thanks for all the help, I was able to find the filter lodged in the tranny and was able to get it out after about an hour of poking around...:drink: :drink: :drink:

Yeah I felt pretty lucky when I shined a flash light in there and saw the filter was still in there fished it out and put it back in. I thought for sure it was all chewed up and I was going to have to pull the motor, I was not looking forward to that..
