Normal gas in cdale?

#1 Post by jcmpunk »

I was just reading about maitenance and stuff, and was wondering what is necessary to run in the cdale? Does it have to be race gas, or is pump gas fine? I think that the gas around me is 91 octane. Thanks.

The owner's manual states "Premium unleaded (anti-knock index 93 or higher) " Mine runs great on 93 octane.:deal:

Hmm, maybe I kind find 93 octane around somewhere. If I were to run 91 octane, would it mess the engine up?

I am not sure , but i don't think 2 less octane will HARM anything. It may not run as good as it could .Maybe someone else will have a different answer.

it could start to detonate with the lower octane fuel, causes a lot more stress on the piston, i run 93 octane amaco works perfect

me personally, i will only use 93 octane, but i have heard of cdalers that don't have access to 93, use 91 or 92 with some octane booster.they never said how it worked for them.?

That is cool; I don't have to worry about race gas if I get a cdale!smile.gif

Do not run 87, this motor is 11.8:1 and needs to be run on 91 or above. Go to the gas station and buy the best they sell and you are fine. Super Unleaded.

No problem.

They were all supposed to be 12.5:1 but after the first year they all dropped to about 11.8:1 (says Southbay, who tested them when they came in).

Still 91 or higher is the way to go.
