Gearbox Problems?

#1 Post by floatingjimi »

I have a recently purchased 2002 Speed. I have found difficulties enaging neutral ( well sometimes we still need to use it). All the other gears enage fine, it's just a bit hit and miss with neutral. There is a little play on the selector in/out of about 5mm is that normal.
thanks for any advice

Ever have that scary feeling going up a hill or when racing, you know false neutral....

Anyways, cannondale designed the gearbox to have close cut gears so that you won't hit neutral when riding...

Just use your hand and find neutral..

Also the play in the shifter shaft?thats normal..

After it's gets a bit of time on it, it gets easier to hit neutral!
