HMF cutting down

Whats up with cutting down the HMF pipe? Does it give it more bottom and mid? Does it take away from the top end? What do you have to do to shortened the pipe? How many inches? Would it pass for the gncc sound test? could you still put in a guite core?

I cut mine down b/c it stuck out past the grab bar so far that everyone kept hitting the tailpiece and bending it all up. I just took a sawzall and cut it off and then riveted the tailpiece back into place. It is louder for sure. Not sure if I gained anything anywhere though.

Did it change your mapping or fuel settings any by shortening it?
