Cam Timing

#1 Post by claas900 »

Hello,Iv got my 03 Speed motor out to check for studs.Good thing nothing was lose aprx. 25 hours.Anyways I have noticed that the cam timing marks don't line up.I have a friend also with an 02 Speed, same thing??They both run very strong. We had talked about degreeing the cam,at least checking it out to see if it right on.

But we were wanting to know if anyone else noticed this? And has anyone tampered with it to put it right on?Any info would be great Thanks..

It takes alot of turns of the crank to get all of the marks to line up. The best way is to ignore all the marks, bring it to TDC, install the TDC bolt and just check that the lobe marks on the cams are where they bolong. BUT, if you didn't take nothing apart and it ran fine, don't worry about it.
