check and make sure the wire sheilding isn't worn through under the clamp behind flywheel

heres the bulletin if found in a previous post

http://www.cannondaleriders.com/tec...-009_stator.pdf

this is the problem with the stator wires yours might not have this problem because it only effected a short time period in the build dates.

good news its not the ecu but it still dies, however it did take less time to recover and start again. it only took about 8-10 min to recover and get me to the casa. bleed hole was clogged and I cleaned it out. if and when I get my flywheel revover I will look at the wires and see if that is the source. this bike is driving me crazy:eek:

yeah tell me about it I went through all that with mine, but the engine has been solid I have an early 02 with the good case and it runs strong (knock on wood) The stalling issue was so frustrating but it's been running great since I fixed that and my battery issues. Dual battery setup is the way to go as well!!! Good luck!

cranking any quad over for more then a few seconds at a time is bad on the starter......yikes.........and dales you arnt suppose to crank them over for no more then 4-5 seconds at a time. And that would foul your plug. Did you try the suggestion that i stated above yet??..its easy and simple to do. Start it..let it idle for 5 minutes.....around there/...then touch the radiator(carefully)...if its still cold or feels like it did when it was cold..then your having coolant flow probs.....and when you ride it...it will obviously overheat...and dales have temp sensors...and the ecu will shut off your bike and not let it start till it thinks its safe again.

I'll put it this way..........every second i ride the 450r.......makes me wish more and more that my dale was back together already....lol. I mean it is a great quad...no doubt...has pretty good power.......handles pretty darn good.....nimble feeling. But i miss the power of the dale..and the way the dale feels. In truth....the 450r feels like a suped up 400ex.
