Just make an aluminum plate that fits behind the impeller housing and shim the impeller out by that much more. RTV it to the side of the case/cam cover, and it simulates an aluminum vavle cover. Costs 5 bucks.

Mine was not pitted very bad when I took it off. My friend works at a body shop, and I got him to use 3M Panel Glue and spread that over the affected area. This stuff gets rock hard and we have used it before in several 250R motors to help hold the counterbalancer bearing holder (the ears on the billet pro-design replacement break off).

Just a thought
