I understand knobbies will produce lower hp numbers. I'm not sure I can get my hands on a set of flat track tires. I have access to two dyno's and plan on getting w/ the dyno across the street from ATK or going to the one closer to my house now that my riding season is over.. Woud a tighter tread pattern on a Turf Tamer work better then say a tire like a Z400 Dunlop tire w/ it's wider knobby pattern....

A dyno will really tear up Turftamers I am not sure whether the slipping which a knobby has is the cause of lower hp or the weight of tire.Really though as long as you are consistent in your tire and pressure and you are just interested in what gains you make from mods it shouldnt matter what tire you run.
Dynos are the ultimate tuning tool but comparing one dynos numbers to anothers and even runs done on same dyno under different conditions is a mistake that lots do.
