I guess so, but I still don't have a rpoblem with my cannibal's 5th gear with stock gearing. I like to run the speed/moto map.

I see no need to have a 5th gear on a dale, or any bike for that matter, but i only ride mx and some trails, i NEVER rap out my sheat wide open across some field, i care too much about my bikes.....pinned from corner to corner, or through a corner, yeah, across a field so i can show my friends how fast it is, no.:hammer:

in some of the hare scrambls I ran last year the loamy open field was the only place I cold make up on time, about 2 spots that were about a mile long. As long as the dust wasn't blinding me i would usually get past everything. I just had to give all 4th had before I hit 5th and away I went!

Yeah, I cant say I agree with scooter, its not like the only time you run into a long open straight is when you are "showing off to your friends" in a field, just becuase you dont encounter them on an MX track doesnt mean that they dont occur anywhere else.

Scooter, what gears are you running (sprockets) and what size tires. I was running 13/42 with 18's and found a good use for 5th gear on the local MX track... I was in 4th and 5th liek I was in 3rd and 4th with my 22's
