Won't turn over

Well I finally went to start my bike up after putting the motor back in and it wouldn't start. I put a new fuel filter on, checked the battery cables, checked the ecu connections, checked all of the plugs but here is my qustion:

Which side is the left inj and the right injector? If I am looking at the bike on the shifter side, is this one the right injector? If I am kneeling down and looking at the brake pedal, is this the left injector?

Also, I cut the light wires out, taped them one at a time, then taped them together? Could that be it?

If I turn the key on it powers the fuel pump for a second like usual but when I hit the start button it doesn't do anything.

One last question, on the start button connectors, there is a black wire, and another black wire, then on on the harness there is a black wire, and a black wire with a stripe. Which one is suppoused to go where?

Thanks alot and if you could please try to answer most of my questions that would be great!. :head: Thanks!

Check the switch on the clutch lever. When you are sitting on the quad the right injector is on the right and the left is on the left.

The switch on the clutch lever was cut off, do they have to be connected for it to start? Should I tape them together at all times?

yes your clutch wires need to be connected if you eliminated the switch

Well, I spliced the 2 clutch sensor wires together and now all it does is click(before it did NOTHING) So I guess I should change the solenoid and see what that does? Could that be the issue? Thanks

quadrider, your 450 sounds pretty much like the same set up that i have its ok to take the 2 wires from the clutch and wick them together the bike just starts without the clutch being pulled. ( a cannondale safety issu... blah blah blah ) if you get the clicking noise when you hit the start button my 2 cents is go after the starter solenoid or just keep hitting the start button it may start its a votage issue if it keeps clicking change it, your closer to your fix. then you think. hope that helps.

Ok cool.... I'm gonna put the battery on a charge then change out the solenoid. There are 2 red battery cables that come off the solenoid, the one on the right goes to the starter and the one on the left goes to the battery right?

quadrider, you got it . right cable to starter, left goes to battery. however ther are 2 different types of soleniods, if im right the oldest version '01- early '02 had the soleniod the had 2 wires that came out of the top. ( one red one blue that has pig tale on that) or you have one that plugs right into the soleniod no wires at all. find the one you have and you should be on your way!!!!
as timbo would say " getter done"

I changed the solenoid with a good used one... Then I put a brand new coil on and it's doing the same thing, click click click. So now what do I try? I already sanded the corrosion off all of the cables and terminals then tightened them down good but still nothing. Any ideas?????
