The Moto map was developed for the FMF Titanium pipe's characteristics. Other pipes will likely benefit from specific tuning, but *may* also work well with the moto map.

Yes the $300 kit allows you to "remap" with existing maps, it doesn't allow you to make your own maps though.

For optimal power and even engine longevity the map should be made for the pipe. I've seen very small changes in pipe design have a drastic effect on AFR at certain RPM's. I've also seen some weird power curves by just throwing a pipe on without mapping. In an ideal world an aftermarket pipe mfr. should provide you with a map or at least some general settings. They recommend and even supply jets on a carb setup well a map is basically the same as jetting!! There is more power lurking in the engine and tuning it right is the key, without mapping (injector timing, ignition timing, and transients) tuning is very limited.

Cannondale says do not run the Moto map on anything but a high flow header and muffler. The speed cannibal and blaze maps can be run on other exhaust.

400exbro, no you can run the stock map with any pipe. If you want to run the moto map you need a high flow header and muffler, thats what we were told at Cannondale training.
