Does anyone know why there is an insert or spacer that slides in the intake side of the throttle body? Is this some sort of restricter? has anyone tried removing it yet?

To my knowledge this is where an insert for an asperated carb would be .I removed mine and have noticed verry little difference . Worst it can do is bring youa touch lean . but should not hurt a thing what so ever .

I know AceRacing has removed theirs. I say if it makes the bike breath better it must be good.

This insert is provided for strength of the throttle body chamber. This is keep the outside from deforming from tightening the clamps to tight. I was told it runs better by keeping this in.

While talking to an r&d personell the other evening states that it doesn't harm anything by removing it in fact his is out and all it allows is for a breath of air in an gaping maw already pulling in air . so bringing it a bit more leaner wont hurt a thing at all .
