what would be more mild of a change
right now i'm running 14-38
would 15-38 or 14-36
i don't need the 15-38 but the 14-38 just isn't enough gear so would the 14-36 be more in the middle?
sproket ratio

the ratios for gearing you mention is
15/38 = 2.533
14/38 = 2.714
14/36 = 2.571
15/40 = 2.666 kinda middle of the ratios
so the 14/36 is really not that much different then the 15/38 only 0.038 in ratio.
what are you looking for more top end or or take off torque?

more top end. i'm running a stroker with lots of low end nuts, seems to find the rev limiter a little more then i would like on a mx track. for the ratios, i didn't think to divide the rear by the front. makes sense though. would 15-38 be to big of a jump?

both of my dales have 15/38 and I trail ride one and mx the other. both are ported 448 strokers and that gearing seems good to me. rule of thumb I heard is +1 in the front or -3 in the rear is about 5mph more on top ( like I said I heard not too sure how true it is). you should be fine with 15/38
how close is the 15 from hitting the swingarm guard? ever have any issues?
