So I'm putting my engine back together and when I went to torque one of the helper studs I may have over-torqued it and strippped the threads. I can't get the nut to back off, I was able to get it snug but I'm sure its not 16lbs. How important is this, the other one tightened fine as well as the 4 head studs. Can I run with out an issue, can the stud itself even been replaced???

you can replace those studs. Just double nut the stud and back it out with a wrench. not 100% on stud size but i think it is M8x1.25. I can check later at work because I have some old helper stud nuts there.
Ok, I guess running it like that would be a bad idea?? Also I can't get the nut to back off even to double nut it. It just keeps spinning.

If you want to replace it without taking the head off You can grab whats left of the threads with a vice grip and heat the head boss to loosen the locktite. It should turn out.
Do you know what the stud size is?? Is it something common I can get or I will have to order it? Trying to get this thing together by this week, everything has been going great till this.

I believe the back stud cant be removed with the head on since it is to long.
This is on the intake side I'm having the issue.
