I have a 2002 cannondale speed that i was the origional owner. a few years ago up at sand mountain it died. i get spark. fuel pumps sound like they turn on. i had it turning over for me but wouldnt fire up. now its been sitting in my garauge for a few years and i havnt done anything with it. i want it running now. over the years in poor attempts to get it running i have swaped out the wiring harness, main relay, and cpu. thinking the problem was electrical, but still nothing. i just got a new battery and played with it the other day. everything still turns on but still wont start. was wondering if their was anyone in the sacramento area or close by that works on the cannondales. please let me know. Thanks - Alan

Ok to get this straight when it died and stopped running you were going up a big hill and it just quit did you hear any bad noises from the engine? Since you have a bunch of new stuff on there and you said it powers on and all that jazz i wouldnt imagine it would be electrical. The things i would check first from your symptoms would be the flywheel first to make sure i has not spun which i have had 2 spin doing the same thing you were. If that doesnt work go and try gutting your fuel disconnects (should really do it anyways or get a boomer tank mod kit). Also check your 2 grounding spots and make sure they have good grounds (i believe one is on the left headlight bracket and the other is near the fuel reg. Thats what i would check first but im sure others will chime in soon.

If you do get it up and running, since its a non updated engine i would recommend at least updating to a z-400 bearing for the crank and check for sticky bucket. Who knows you could have an engine that lasts for a long time but if you see shavings in your oil filter or drain plug magnet you should def. do the updates for a great reliable engine.

don't forget to check for worn stator wires were they have been known to get rubed through by the flywheel
