I'm just wondering what the total cost of all updates in a motor would be including a Z400 bearing and new piston and liner along w/ all the other necessary stuff to make a motor last a very long time with labor.

If I recall correctly there is a excel file floating around the site with each cost itemized.

However, what is unclear is where to buy all of the parts. Is it as easy as calling up the site sponsors or are there other places to acquire parts?

I would say you could get it done right for about 800-1000 with porting and ready to drop in. As that is about what I paid assuming you have a good crank and do the assembly yourself
