Well I got my motor almost completely figured out, The intake cam is worn from a sticky bucket and the cam chipped off a small piece of the head (won't affect anything) So I am going to be buying a new cam, buckets and adjusting the valves will I need anything else ?
If I understand correctly, the bucket sticks because the hole it slides in and out of tightens up once the head has been heat cycled enough times. Tim fixes that by re-machining out that area to the correct tolerances, so you may want to contact him. I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable engine guys will chime in though.
Must be machined or there is a labor intensive process where you find the EXACT highspot and remove JUST the highspot using a stone. This takes about 2 hrs but results in a fit of.0005 or so which keeps oil on top of the bucket for weeks even when motor isnt running.Like stock and how they are designed.I highly recommend DLC buckets from Timbo.
If you are going to get the stick bucket fixed and go with DLC buckets, you would be foolish not to have the Matczak boys port the head while you are at it. There is no better dollar for dollar horsepower adder than that.
