I remember reading a thread about removing the iacv and making a block-off plate for it.I have tried three different iacvs all work fine for awhile then the idle is up & down, change to another iacv idles good for awhile (months),then its back. I would like to eliminate altogeather.Anyone have a description of the procedure or pics? Thanks.
I usually just cut a piece of cork gasket similar size to the IACV gasket, but solid and put it in between the IACV and the throttle body. You could leave the IACV plugged in or unplug it, shouldn't really make a difference either way.
It will idle quite low on cold starts without an IACV, usually requires some throttle to keep it going for the first few seconds.
