I purchased the BigGun full system and I am having difficulty getting anything up underneath the frame crossbar and above the headers to pull the 2 star nuts that hold the header retainer on. Any ideas or suggestions of how to get these darn things off? I think I may need an 8mm, 12 sided socket with 1/4 ratchet but not sure that even this is small enough to get in there.

same here, Sears.. they don't have a 8mm 12 point. but you can use the 12 point 5/16 socket

Thats weird, Sears is the place that I got my 12 point 8mm socket.... Although I did have to go there twice, first time they were out of them. So they do make suck a cookie and stock them. Just letting you know for all you Craftsman folks.

Geez, didnt think there was that many Cannondale's out there changing exhaust and doing the stage 8 kit. Thats the only thing I can thing of that would require a 12pt 8mm.... lol

I'd heard alot of talk on here saying how difficult or painstaking it was to remove the header bolts. I almost paid a dealer to do it for me. I considered $100 to much, so went to sears & bought a 5/16 12pt 1/4 drive socket (they were out of 8mm, english worked just fine). I also got a 1/4" flex drive (like a stiff spring). The hard part is getting down to were you need to be. Remove the gas tank & top of rear shock & you'll only need like 4-8" of extension depending which bolt your on. The lower left nut is were you'll praise the flex drive. Other than that, not hard at all!

After installing my fmf ti, I listened to how it sounded, took it to the dealer & had the moto/speed map installed. It really rocks now! Worth the effort.
