Need some help. I have a wine in gear but only when off throttle. Pull in the clutch and it stops. Any ideas would help.

If it just started . Check oil level then pull filter and check for metal. If metal is found pul it . Dont run it with a problem because the cams are driven from the tranny side. Metal wipes the chain slides and pumps.

Bike had been setting but had a oil leak at the water pump weep hole. So pulled motor and replaced. Changed all oils and went for a test ride. That???s when I heard noise. All looked good inside when I pulled covers to change.

So you pulled the cam covers and cams to replace the seal?

Yes, only one cam for the oil seal. Noise is not there at idle only when decelerating. If I pull in clutch while decelerating it stops.

To clarify only when in gear and decelerating.

Well I would double check chain tension of the drive chain . I guess I would have to hear it myself. Any noise other than normal dale rattle is always of great concern.
