Engine Hour Meter

Hope this hasnt been covered before, I doubt there is an hour meter on the engine, is there a way to install an aftermarket meter? Im sure John Deere probably has something like this.

Anybody thought to do it?

very cool, will I figgure out how to install it or do you have a few helpful tips to get me going?

I believe most hour meters are a 2 wire deal positive and ground. I would uh ground the neg. and tie the pos to a wire off the key switch that is hot when turned on.

I havent looked through the electrical schematic yet, but is there charge voltage back to the battery from an alternator or something like that?

That would be a good place to hook into + Im thinkin.

Once I get my quad Ill do an hour meter install post and let you know how it goes. I hate guessin on hours
