Does anybody know the size of the exhaust flange nuts?
Are they a regular 12 point ? Should I get a universal socket or will a regular socket do?

8mm 12 point.
You'll be wanting the smallest one you can find (not 1" drive;))
Have you got an extendable magnet as well? Kinda handy.

It is 8mm 12 point. I used a regular 3/8 drive socket with a wobel extenson. I also unbolted the top of the shock to give me more room. Good luck.:usa

I found that on a 02 header, a 3/8 drive will barely fit. You will need 1/4 drive on an '03 or Ti header.

The 1/4 makes it easiest in either case though. Use the socket, short extention, universal, and another extention.

there is a standard size that will work too - I'm thinking 9/32? If that's the only 12 point you have, it'll work.

Make sure you have a wobble 3/8 drive, 12 pt socket, and drop the top of the rear spring. The is some old directions if you need to look it up here. Really nothing to it though. Just have the right stuff on hand. Its flustrating to have to go get something.
Luck

I use a 8mm 12 point 1/4 drive or a 5/16 12 point 1/4 drive,

On my moto i replaced those dang nuts with 10mm 6 point nuts, they are alittle tricky to get on and off but its easily possible, and its soooooooooooo much easier to find a socket to fit them

Oh yeah it is 1/4" drive!!!

3/8 > 1/4 ...

looks like I would have learned that inside of an engineering degree.

Darn N Carolina schools. Just a brain freeze I guess, I ment to say wobble 1/4 drive that makes it easier
sorry
