Cannondaleriders

Somehow I managed to crack the engine case where the oil inlet screen goes! Has anyone done ths before and how did you fix it? Can it be welded or sealed up with some type of epoxy or do have need to buy a new case? I need help!!!!!

Can you post a picture?Never heard of it cracking there before but lately I have seen cracks other than the motor mount.Wistech has one that is cracked on flywheel side starting at crank seal.
That oil isnt under any real big pressure so maybe just seal it up.Did you put the fitting in crooked or what happened?

To be honest I did not tighten it that much it just poped and cracked about 1/2 inch. I will try to see if it can be welded or sealed some way. I will let you know. I will also try to post a picture.

I bet that is why the late 03's used a plastic fitting.Fitting would break before case.Get it good and clean and JB weld it.I only check that screen when I happen to have the whole exhaust off.Not very often!
