The 02 was having some trouble it was leaking coolant from..what appeared to be the hose...we changed it and it didn't leak...but now it wont start...i checked the battery and it reads at 12v..i also took apart the connections and sanded them a to clean them up...at first it tries to turn over...but then it i start to hear a clicking noise...like the solenoid is stuck??? a really fast clicking and no attempt to turn over...is this the stator? I dont have that update..i think...it only has one wire on negative......
the second post was for the 01..we rode it hard but it ran great...wheni got home i checked the oil it appeared low...so i added some..started fine...next day it wont start.....? it tries really hard to turn over but wont start....though maybe it was a fule problem so i changed the filter...nuthing.......help...
also has any one sent their engine to southbay moto...

sounds like your 02's battery has failed.
check voltage while you hit the start button.

not so sure on the 01.

I agree with Ryan on the battery, that clicking is probably the starter not getting enough juice to turn the motor over.

I'm not sure on the 01 either, but I'd be checking that battery too.

Did you by chance leaves the keys in the on position on the quads? That will drain the battery.

got a new battery...and started up fine....now i need help on the next one....could it be a fouled plug? or maybe it has too much or not enough oil...would the ecu keep it from starting if it sensed that it something wrong with the oil levels.....also has any one tried those metal oil filters on sale on ebay for 50 bucks by ips....?
thanks for all the help....

also wondering where i could find a service center for my cdales

start with the easy stuff.plug, check all grounds and connections, check the orings on the fuel lines.the ecu doesnt monitor oil levels or pressure or none of that.check your injector wires make sure they are clean and the clips on the plug are tightly seating on the pins of the injector.try the new battery in that quad a low battery wil not let it start.is it turning over normally as far as the angine spinning or is it spinning slowly?might need to do a throtle recal or simply just adjust the idle.

was the 01 engine warmed up when you checked the oil? I believe i'd put the new battery in it first. If it still won't start, Then pull the spark plug and hit the starter with the plug OUT. Looking for oil leaking into the cylinder, then change the plug. good luck man.

O-Rings

The O-Rings they are talking about are in the fuel line disconnects on the bottom of the gas tank.If the O-Rings swell, it will constrict the flow of fuel getting to the engine.smile.gif
