I had a hard day of riding and i got home and noticed it was leaking oil out of the air box, so i took it for a ride to see if it ran ok and it did but on my way home the battery seemed to go dead. i charged the battery to 100% and still when i try and start it, it just boggs down and the battery goes dead what is wrong? does anyone know thnaks!

:welcome:

first off the oil from the airbox might be from over filling it OR the scavenger pump gears are shot.

sounds like your battery is dead! have you hooked jumper cables to it? did you test it with a multimeter? you could've cooked it when charging it(thomez).

You can very easily cook a Cannondale battery to death by charging it on a hi amp charger. You should not use anything above 2 amps to charge the battery. If you were in a hurry, I would jump the battery then charge it later. I use a small 900ma charger that has worked for years on quad batteries without any problems. I just updated it to a maintenence type charger in the same amp range.

and... you can't jump start it and ride it to charge the battery. it needs to be fully charged before you take off anywhere.

The claims that I cooked my battery while charging are false! I use a 750 mili-amp battery tender! I believe I cooked mine with about 20 jump starts during a single day of riding after I had left the key on the night before and had a completely dead battery to start the day. Nice try CD! tongue.gif
