what is the case? mine is an 02 and it is a gray color?

check at the sprocket and see if its says cannondale. No cannondale= old cases.

on the plastic on the sproket side it says cannondale

what is the old case and the new case made of?

The Cannondale you are looking for, will be cast into the engine case itself, not on the plastic.

As for what they are made from, they are both made from Aluminium, but the process to manfacture them was different.

so you can buff them out to a nice shine?

You can buff any metal out to a shine. You are talking about alot of work though. Wowza alot of work. But, if you are chemically inclined I would think you could do alot of the work with chemicals and then buff the daylights out of it.

If you're looking to polish the case, I think you're using an entirely different kind of chemical.

I bet it would look cool if he did it but it would take fore ver and u wouldnt be able to keep it looking good unless you polished it all the time
