quick connect fuel fittings

IM WONDERING IF ANYBODY CAN TELL ME IF FUEL SHOULD POUR OUT OF MY GAS TANK WHEN I DISCONNECT THE QUICK CONNECTS? ( THE FITTINGS THAT CONNECT THE FUEL LINES TO THE TANK) I WAS REPLACING FUEL LINES AND THE FITTING DIDNT LEAK WHILE IT WAS DISCONNECTED THE FIRST TIME,,,BUT AFTER I HAD IT OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES,GAS POURS OUT NOW WITH THE FITTING DISCONNECTED..

I bought the connectors at local Fleet Farm.

Tempo #240080 mod#484cfc female end $6.49
Tempo #220060 mod#461crc male end $6.49

They are used for Force outboard motors so flow and safety should be fine.A better fix would be to find this type of o-rings for our connectors since these will require some work to make.Brown orings.

steve can you take a photo of your gas tank with these connectors?

Has anyone looked into Russel Performance quick disconnects? They are probably expensive however I believe that they will eliminate the o-ring problem. I am wondering about room. I planned on trying this over the winter.
