This piston came out of my 450 dale motor.

The crank seized and the piston has these pock marks throughout the underside.

The sleeve looks fine. I plan to race this motor in 05

Will this piston be ok?

Replacing it means another $400+ so I would inspect the side. If there are no marks then it should be ok. If your sleave survived then I woudl guess the side of the piston survived as well. But, inpect it and see. And even if it does have a mark go ahead and see if you can clean it up. The worst that is going to happen you have to replace the sleeve and piston. Well, duh, you would do that anyways.

are those little dings or pieces of material imbedded in the piston? i'd run it if they're just dings.

I would probably replace it, then sell that one to rookie at a slight discount.

Thats pretty cool. If the skirts dont have steel embedded in them and there are no cracks I would run it out of spite. Ive never seen that in any siezed cranks before . Must have been a fast failure.
