battery now says full but still wot start wont even try to turn over im thinking starter but you all know my knowledge of cannondales so it is probably somthing else.
If you get a chance pull the oil filter out and check for metal shavings. I would hate to think that it would happen to a new owner but these are the classic symptoms of a rod bearing failure.
Also, you may have just fouled the new plug again while cranking it with a badly prepped weak battery -- new battery does not mean it was ready to go, or may have been toasted already with high-amp charger -- when this happens they can read full voltage but still have a low cranking power -- maybe test again with a known good battery, or have that one analyzed if in doubt.
Another way to check if batt is bad is to hook up voltmeter WHILE cranking it over.If voltage drops to like 8v battery is junk even if it reads 12v without cranking it.
OK, you are frying your battery. You cannot put these types of batteries on anything over 1-1.5 amps. There are insulators inside the battery that pretty much melt and lead to dead battery. Sorry to see all this trouble happening for ya.
Are you saying the engine wont turn over or it turns over but wont start? 1 hour on a standard charger isnt going to destroy a new battery to where it wont turn the engine over.
