Instead of cotter pins, go to your local hardware store and pick up some "Safety Pins" They are not the same as what you pin clothes with, they aren't sharp. then get some RC fuel line, or soem small lines to put over the open parts so they don't bounce around. I will take some pictures of this later, it works great and they are re-usable.

Guthrie. I am going to throw this out there, but there is not alot of room under the cap at all. I would just stick with the pins as they are even a little tight too.
