Ok, you've all seen her from the outside, and now that I have the power to put up pics BRU HAHAHHAHA, I can show you all what she looks like naked. I modified small things but did it alot, I put the fuel pump under the ecu tray you see there. Got rid of the plastic peices for the air box and created a cold air intake. I'd love to get this thing on a dyno to see what kind of hp gain I have. I know its some, theres diffently a seat of the pants difference in it and a stock air box. Sorry it took me so long Cannondale27, its been a fight to get this stupid camera to downlaod. I ended up getting a different camera to get the job done.
That intake started as a flat piece of aluminum. I rolled it formed it and welded it. I put it on and it was about an inch to long, so I had to cut it and reweld, the second time around I didnt grind the welds down, got in a hurry, and you have what you see. Its a very tight fit, the K&N takes up all the room. I can't roll anything smaller than 3", so that the size it ended up. I would bet you could use a cold intake off a car, I just wanted it hand built.
Yeah its pretty well the same with the plastic on or off. I biult this thing last April and have been playing with it since. I like everything about it, I ended up changing the injector settings less than what I thought it should have been. I went another 50 rich flow rate, and .2 offset off of stock. It still isnt perfect, but its close. I'm going to invest in a AFR meter like what you have and a map editor, then I'll be able to see better how much more air I'm pulling. I have come up with an easier way to make them, but I havent got the details worked out. This thing took me about 100hrs to build so its not a cheap deal, so a cheaper way to biuld it is a must to put them into production.
