Rickystator has some sweet ball joints for the 250R with 16mm shanks. If you have the older style a arms, with the Eye at the end, instead of the arms ending in the circle itself, you can cut the eye off, bang a bushing in there and then use a ball joint with a thin nut on the outside and inside. That's what I did to mine, it seems solid. I just did the lowers because they get all the abuse. You have to get some adapters for the spindles though, I got the adapters from Winkey. They are little aluminum cones.

Yes, you add ~+1 to the end. Really the +1 is at ride height so it kinda depends on the angle the arms are at and such. But you could add close to 1" and be fine. Now, the bigger worry is the shank length and diameter at that distance. You said you added a bushing and it was long enough to add a nut to both sides? Can you post a pic?
happy . no not me wjr in a post at daler

the shank is about 2.5'' long and about 34
pic no not at this time but the pic of the ball joint is here http://www.rickystator.com/pages/ATV_Hardware.html rs3002
J. Delaney yes you are right about that being to wide for that.
way it looks right now, if i cut off the eye at the flat spot put the nut to end of the shank it would be at the stock size
if i put the nut to the front it would be at 12 over stock i could just get a nut on about 3 turns on the end.
wjr said you can cut the eye off, bang a bushing in there.??
what kind of a bushing do i look for
