well.... this is what i came up with so far. let me know what you guys think. i mainly ride mx, rain or shine the mud don't bother me. just don't want to restrict my bike any.
thanks for your input and pics!

Looks good. You don't run an Outerwears?

Yep very cool.
I didn't see this thread before, but I've been including this flap with Direct Intake Kits for the past couple of years. It attaches with rivets and backers. It can also overlap any separate underflap, and zipped once at each side -- both can serve to form a supported shroud, and with minimal or no contact against the filter. If any moisture sheets underneath your top piece, it will wick into the filter where contact is made. I think your bottom flap is great, but you might consider something like this for the top flap, and eliminate the upper turn-back of your bottom flap. This one happens to be an 8 x 12 x 1/16".

I like the bottom piece also. Not only does it keep some more water off filter but it also keeps a ton of power robbing hot air from getting sucked right in.Not claiming any big hp but think about it all the oem's have something similar on bikes and quads.I have one on mine.It was Annimal Cannible's idea.Just be careful it doesnt interfere with throttle wheel.

i run an outerear. as for the throtle wheele it's close. the bottom actually rests on the cable, but there is no way for the plastic to go any farther down to the wheele. i like the big rubber flap you have there dave, couldn't find any thing bigger then what i have in the pic. and i will reform the top up away from the filter as far as the bars will let me. maybe have to have you send me your kit next time i order from you.

thanks guys.
