I don't believe the 100hp Banshees are running stock flywheels but I don't ever remember anyone tearing up a flywheel on a Banshee, only sheared flywheel keys & then only a few. On the high hp Banshees, especially those used in the sand they use a reverse flywheel where all the pick-ups are on the outside and the flywheel is only a few inches in diameter and made out of solid aluminum. The weight difference is drastic and the power band is even more of a light switch!
I made a comment about that style of flywheel in another thread. somewere? I just took the stator and flywheel off my old GT250 ZUK. I think it was twelve volts (but no cooling fan so maybe not big enough?) It is about 6" outside diameter with a three inch diameter flywheel. Also, I think there is a double row of magnets in the flywheel. I know it would be a lot to hope for to have the ZUK flywheel fit on the Dale crank, but if it did you would just need to build an adapter plate to mount the stator and figure how to mount the crank position sensor.
HMMMM, just remember I have a Dale crank in the shop. I'm going to see if the ZUK flywheel is even close to fitting the tapper on the Dale crank.
