Timing Modification?

#1 Post by Dale512 »

I've heard of ppl with YFZ450's retarding or advancing their Cam timing, forget which way it is. But can we do this with our motors? I know SBM has some sort of Timing Modification, but not sure what exactly they do.

this process is spelled out in the c-dale engine service manual. keep in mind that cannondale claimed to have them positioned for ideal performance.

I heard same as Big Winky from Walsh they tried it was best stock. But if you want the cam sprockets are held on with the big allen bolt there are locating pins with holes in the gears.

Walsh and Kyle at R&S both told me there is no gain in messing with the cams. Walsh even designed different cams to no power gain. I believe Southbay does have a cam but its in conjuction with there relocation of the injectors.
