400EX tierods?

#1 Post by Dale512 »

Will 400EX tierods work on my Speed? I broke a tierod and my cousin has a spare set of 400 ones at his house and I was wondering if they would work.

Can't answer that one, but I do have a set of used stockers I'll let go cheap. PM me if your interested.

Not sure where G-stone is, but I'm gonna be in Breezewood PA Friday and again Monday and could bring them with me if your close.

the 400 would work in a pinch, but at full suspension compression, the tie-rods will hit the frame. They are a little taller than the stock cannondale.

no, they don't work. the c-dale uses a 1/2-20 thread on the ends and the 400ex uses 12mm X 1.25. If you need one , give me a call with the length needed and i'll make one for you. www.diamondracing.com

Big Winky is right. The through bolt that mounts the rod end to the upright/steering column is M10. The tie rod is 1/2". You would have to use a different tie rod as well. Plus if you have the older steering column the tie rod ends would hit the frame. On the newer steering column the tie rod plate sits 10mm lower.
