250r is a great machine, I've got an '86 that keeps going and going, it's ported and piped but tuned pretty rich, will keep up with any ride, it's not the fastest up te hill and drinks a lot of fuel but suspension works good.

Do it, light weight, simple and if you bore it out to a 310, port it, throw a cool head on and install an exhaust youll be easily in 50's...EASILY....i had a 2001 cr250 with all of that and it hauled ***, beat quads dynoes at 65rw hp before at the dunes. I know its a bike but had buddies dyno similar cr's(same year...good year for cr250) and they were pulling around 60hp with those mods.

i always wanted to do a hybrid cr500 quad, i looked strongly for years into doing on a lonestar 400ex frame, but in the end i wanted a machine that could race and ride without worries and the hybrid wasnt it, but it is a dream i hope to build one day when i can have 3 atvs!! 1 race, 1 backup then the builder hybrid! i think any hybrid done right is neat and cool, everything has there own thing cr250 motor would be nice. i will gladly take the glamis motor from you too!! just send it along with my head

That quad on Exriders looks like they did everything right, maybe a TRX motor would have been a better choice from the vibration standpoint but the 250R motor has the power valves.
I have a dale frame sitting in my garage with a CR500 motor tucted nicely in using the swing arm bolt, project was put on hold due to the C'dale rebuild. I will have to deal with some of the same issues that the 250R project delt with, thanks for the link, I'm going to get in touch and pick his brain. Issues to deal with, carb clearance, I was thinking of the same thing that they did. Kick start has some issues.
Sorry this post is for the 250 project, I'll do a different post for the 500 hybrid.

I sold all the Cannondales and just bought a full Laeger 250R (265cc).
I believe I listed the project in the non-Cannondale forum....
