That is not a dumb question. The length of the swingarm changes the center of gravity of the quad. Go shorter and it will be wheelie machine. Go longer to help keep the front end down. Flat track (and those crazy ice racers) need a shorter arm to help get more leverage to the back wheels and helps in sliding. The duners and drag racers need the extra length to help keep from flipping over due to too much traction.
