Eh, it could be worth that much. If the chassis is in great shape and the motor was done by a competent builder I would say yeah, 2k is good. Guys on here are blasted cheap. If you look at getting a busted one for 700+ and then put at the minimum of 1k into the motor you go past that $1500 mark fast.

And then does it have any aftermarket goodies.

from what he has told me everything is stock. and i don't see any obvious upgrades. Here are some pics to show the condition a little better. it needs front tires and the tail light is cracked.

It probably is not worth that. Perhaps in the 1,000 - $1200 range.

From my initial inspection it may have been updated from the factory from the original early FX400 with the 02 stator side bearing as the engine side cover is not gold. It still has the earlier computer with the MC500 ECU. It also has the updated swingarm with solid plate, and the breather update. Not having the gold side cover is not a 100% dead giveaway it has been updated but likely it has been.

I would ask updated the motor. Post who on here and if it's someone from here they may speak up. If you can't verify the work then I would assume ts unupdated and probobly worth much less. Prob like speed said.

Check out e-bay auction #3204568556974.2002 moto (?) with fullbore orange plastic and what looks like an orange Glamis seat to match. It looks very clean and its only at 1000.00 with 1 day 6 hours left. The fullbore plastic is worth at least 4-500.00.
If you are not in a hurry you could probably get shipping through u-ship for aroung 400.00.
I'm half tempted to bid but I don't think I have room for a 5th dale. mad.gif

That FX400 up there has my High-flow fuel tank and plumbing on it -- the larger filter version, with the ziptie grommet to dampen the filter vibration as it piggy-backs the fuelpump -- that feature is recent within the last 8 months. And, I recognize the Crankcase Vent Update, and the simple No-seize No-roundoff Sump Drainplug.
So, it seems that machine was running quite recently. BUT BUT BUT, I would NEVER use that round red stop switch on ANY Cannondale -- that one is momentary, and a very common cause of myterious and sudden stalling. That is easily upgraded to a non-momentary switch with a matching end for any main harness. I would not be surprised if that was the reason he is selling.
Anyway, if you PM or email me the owner, or his email address,....I probably have the purchase history handy.
If you don't buy it?....please ask the owner to contact me for a new non-momentary Stop switch.
Also note, the left front fender is tweaked way upward, with that support wire wedged out and laying against the left radiator shroud. The fender will return to looking normal, when mounted to the frame where it belongs.

I think it is worth it as long as it runs and oil checks out good.Pull the filter check for metal after running and look for flow through fill hole.Takes a minute.

Other than the rust on bolts and crummy looking clutch cover this quad has very little time on it.Plastic still looks great also with a little cleaning. That quad has alot of potential with just a little work.
