Check out the idler gear is grinding on the aluminum support below.
A cast aluminum impeller.
I could not get the valve cover off due to the impeller bolt is rusted on. Yep that is right, if you notice the valve cover is convex under the impeller to fill the void. You can't get the valve cover off without the impeller off. I can almost taste those cams.
I am planning on going all the way down to the crank. I want to know if this is a 400cc motor or a 432cc.

Yeah I agree, the engine came with a spare rod and piston, but I won't know if is the same one that is in the engine. The rod is a bit thinner on the big end and longer with a bushing on the wrist pin side. The piston says 97 JE on it and the wrist pin hole is larger than what is in the rod. It would probably match the rod if the rod didn't have the bronze bushing installed.
