Out of curiosity I had looked into the VINs from those bikes on ebay. Just to see if they were true R&D bikes. I could only find the first VIN unfortunately.
Here is the link to the 2002 VIN files.
http://www.cannondaler.com/files/cdale/mis...ale_dyno_02.xls
The first VIN #207 is a 2002 x440s and has no mention of being an R&D bike.
I don't have the 2001 VIN files so I can't check the second two VINs. I'm assuming they are 2001s (not sure how to tell from the VIN), because I couldn't find them on the 02 & 03 VIN lists.
Does anyone have the 2001 VIN files?

I'm about 2 hours from him and im not that new with cannondale but since I got my blaze that doesn't run :/ I've liked them and I figured if I buy those I can sell 2 and keep 1 and save them from being parted out :/ also I don't know what they are going for so I don't know if I should even bother
The Cannondale dirtbike market has turned around a little bit it seems. I've seen some clean running examples bring good money on ebay ($2-3k).
But the 3 bikes on ebay will need a fair bit of work to be in legit running condition, even if they do run. He states that they were in running condition the last time they ran, but when was that? A year ago? 5 years ago? Back in 03' when the factory closed?

All they would need them is change all the hoses, fresh fuel, and a battery

Ideally yes.
Assuming the valve covers aren't corroded through and the injectors aren't stuck. A few of them might have aluminum valve covers since they are early production bikes. Depending on how long they've been sitting I would bet money at least one of them is hydrolocked by now, but that's an easy fix.
The other concern is whether or not they are titled, a title makes a big difference for some buyers as well. But it might be easy titling them in Florida.
I would be interested in a few parts if you did buy them. Let me know!

The 8th number from the right is the year in the vins. So the second one is an 02 and the third is an 03. The first has as 01 vin but sold as a refreshed 02 X440S apparently.
The story of being R&D bikes seems s little fishy but you never know. Could've bought them off someone who told him the story and made it up. But you never know.
I've owned and sold two E440's. Both fully updated sold around $1700 each. Market has went up a little since but unless you snag a **** of a deal you probably won't make much after going through them.

Id say $1000 each would be OK for bikes as they sit . The whole lot of parts looks like maybe $200 $300 . You know most of those engines are smoked or on the verge being R@D bikes supposedly. Id factor in $1000 to update each one.
The lowest I can probably get it for is $4,000 I guess it's not worth it?
