Skid Plate

#1 Post by thunderwolf »

I want one of these. I saw it on Doug Eichner's new 450R at the Parker race. It is billet. He said it started out as a very large block of aluminum and ended up as this work of art. It is very thick and looks unbreakable and awesome. The picture doesn't do it justice. Doug said that they are planning to sell them to the public for around $650-$800:wow . It better have a lifetime guarantee for that kind of price.

The new Dirtwheels magazine has a picture of it off the quad, it looks much better there. I wish I could have got a side shot of it. It was sweet. But I know I would never pay that kind of money for it.

Oh yeah. I talked to him after the race and found out that they LOST the skid plate somewhere out on the 75 mi. course. They only had it on with 4 bolts instead of the 6 that they were supposed to have and the bolts broke.

So why didn't you go check the course? I think it would be worth having the prototype. J/K smile.gif

I did. But I was a little late getting out there. Someone must have beat me to it. I did pick up a few things though.

Well at least you tried. You know I am kidding when I say this, but why were you talking to Eichner still when he said he lost the plate? I would have left mid sentence.

That was my first thought.biggrin.gif But it was already 4:30 and it would have been dark by the time I got finished driving the track. It took me 3-4 hrs. the next day to drive the track in my truck going at a slow enough speed to be able to scan the track and the sides of it looking for parts and still be able to miss all the rocks and big whoops.:wow

Sounds like it is just cool though talking to those guys and just seeing that plate. smile.gif
