Check out the dyno runs posted in the Open forum. The X map is good but doesn't get'er done quite as well as the combo maps that have been created since. The S bike map also had more power than the X if I can remember right. They deliver the power differently than the quad maps it looks like in the dynos.
That X440S ('01-'02 models) had an awesome bottom end :head: It was a ***** to ride smooth though...
"Lightswitch" would be the best way to describe the agressiveness of this map. I've tried most maps in my Supermotard and this one will break traction mid-corner in the dry
The map writers actually detuned that map for the latter X440 MX model.

I would think one of the hybrid maps would work best. The dyno graph for the x map is a mountain with a very steep peak, but it is quite linear. The hybrid quad maps are more of a plateau. I don't know about you, but I would rather be at or near peak hp for 3-5k rpm vs. 500. Having a peaky map might be fun though. I think I need to try it out.

Yup!
'01-'02 X440S was a nice ride, just ask midwestrider over on 'dalers...
Used the same frame as the original MX400...Boy was that thing a hoot to ride :head:
Sounds like a good idea with the SPEED map attatched.
